The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 And who are givers of poor-rate, 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And who pay heed to their prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
