So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 Say: 'Wait if you will; I shall be waiting with you' 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Or say they: He hath invented it? Nay, but they will not believe! 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 (So obstinate are they that) even if they were to see some fragments of the sky falling down they would still say: “It is only a mass of cloud.” 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad SAW) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes, and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. 48 And glorify Him in the night and when the stars begin to wane. 49
