Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them. 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 and He will forgive you your sins, and defer you to a stated term; God's term, when it comes, cannot be deferred, did you but know."' 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 Then indeed I called them openly; 8 and, behold I preached to them in public; and I spoke to them secretly, in private; 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 And hath placed the moon therein for a light, and hath made the sun a lamp? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
