Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 Until you confronted the graves. 2 But no, indeed, you shall soon know. 3 Again, Nay! You shall come to know! 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 Then, on that day, you will be questioned about the bounties (of God). 8
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
