Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered, 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?" 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 He said, "You are granted respite 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 "Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
