And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 and, indeed, if you pay heed to a mortal like yourselves, you will surely be the losers! 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which ye are promised! 36 There is no life beyond our life in this world: we die and we live [but once,] and we shall never be raised from the dead! 37 He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him. 38 He said: My Lord! Help me because they deny me. 39 (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" 40 Then the shout laid hold of them in truth, and We made them a refuse; so away with the wrong-doing people! 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. 43 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron, with Our Signs and authority manifest, 45 to Pharaoh and his Council, but they were very proud, and they were a tyrannical nation. 46 And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us? 47 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and gave them shelter on a peaceful hillside watered by a fresh spring. 50
