The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and by Him Who created the male and the female: 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), 8 And rejects the best, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But save him who fears 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
