You are people unknown to me." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Verily, herein lies a message indeed for all who believe [in God]. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 On them, too, We took vengeance, and they are both on a clear roadway. 79
