Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
