The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt; 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and such flesh of fowl as they desire, 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 like hidden pearls, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And clustered plantains, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virginal, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
