۞ The Sure Reality! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In a lofty garden, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 "My wealth has not availed me, 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 and no food except pus 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
