The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the great news - 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Nay! Nay! they shall soon know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 The rebels' abode, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 The reward to each is according to what he is. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
