AND CALL to mind Our servant Job, [how it was] when he cried out to his Sustainer, "Behold, Satan has afflicted me with [utter] weariness and suffering!" 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We gave to him his family, and the like of them with them, as a mercy from us, and a reminder unto men possessed of minds; 43 "Take a handful of herbs," (We said to him), and apply and rub them, and do not make a mistake." We found him patient in adversity, an excellent devotee, always turning in repentance. 44 And remember Our bondmen Ibrahim, and Ishaq, and Yaqub – the men of power and knowledge. 45 Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the home [of the Hereafter]. 46 They are the chosen ones, the excellent in Our sight. 47 And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. 48 This was a remembrance. An excellent retreat awaits the God-fearing 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 All this is what you are promised for the Day of Judgement. 53 This is surely Our provision never-ending. 54 This [is so]. But indeed, for the transgressors is an evil place of return - 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 This - let them taste it: scalding water and corruption. 57 and, coupled with it, further [suffering] of a similar nature. 58 This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire. 59 They will reply: “Rather, no welcome to you. (You will roast in Hell.) It is you who led us to this end. What an evil resort!” 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked? 62 Took we them so unjustly for a butt of mockery, or are they deluding our eyes? 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
