Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 Fire of Allah, Kindled, 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
