Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 stand up to pray for much of the night. 2 A half thereof, or abate a little thereof, 3 Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited. 4 Behold, We shall cast upon you a Weighty Word. 5 Indeed getting up in the night is tougher, and the words flow with strength. 6 Indeed during the day you have a long schedule of occupations. 7 So remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with exclusive devotion. 8 The Lord of the East and the West-- there is no god but He-- therefore take Him for a protector. 9 And be patient (O Muhammad SAW) with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way. 10 And leave Me (alone to deal with) those in possession of the good things of life, who (yet) deny the Truth; and bear with them for a little while. 11 Lo! with Us are heavy fetters and a raging fire, 12 and food that chokes, and grievous suffering 13 On a Day whereon the earth and the mountains shall quake, and the mountains shall become a sand-heap poured forth. 14 Surely We have sent unto you a Messenger as a witness over you, even as We sent to Pharaoh a Messenger, 15 But Pharoah rebelled against the messenger, so We seized him with a strong, crushing grip. 16 If you disbelieve, how will you guard yourself against the Day that will make children gray haired, 17 on which the heaven will split apart, and His promise is done. 18 Indeed this is nothing but a Good Counsel; so let him who will take a way leading to his Lord. 19
