The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
