Therefore remind! by thy Lord's blessing thou art not a soothsayer neither possessed. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Proclaim, “Go on waiting – I too am waiting along with you.” 31 Does their reason tell them to say this or is it because they are a rebellious people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Or are thy Lord's treasuries in their keeping? Or are they the registrars? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Do the daughters belong to Him and the sons to you? 39 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Or seek they to ensnare (the messenger)? But those who disbelieve, they are the ensnared! 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
