It is He who sends down to you out of heaven water of which you have to drink, and of which trees, for you to pasture your herds, 10 He groweth for you thereby the corn and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Verily therein is a sign for a people who ponder. 11 And He hath subjected for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Verily therein are signs for a people who understand. 12 And there are also Signs for those who take heed in the numerous things of various colours that He has created for you on earth. 13 And it is He Who subjected the sea for you, so you eat fresh meat from it, and extract ornaments from it which you wear; and you see ships ploughing through it and in order that you may seek His munificence and that you may give thanks. 14 And He has cast great mountains in the earth lest it might be convulsed with you, and rivers and roads that you may go aright, 15 And also landmarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 Is then He, Who creates as one who creates not? Will you not then remember? 17 If you count the favors of Allah, you could not number them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and the Most Merciful. 18 And Allah knoweth that which ye keep secret and that which ye publish. 19 And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created; 20 They are dead, not living; and they do not know when they will be raised (to life). 21
