The Stars (Al-Najm)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the star when it plunges, 1 This fellow-man of yours has not gone astray, nor is he deluded, 2 and neither does he speak out of his own desire: 3 It is only an Inspiration that is inspired. 4 The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him, 5 and endowed with wisdom; who in time manifested himself; 6 appearing in the horizon's loftiest part, 7 He (Gabriel) then came nearer and nearer. 8 two bows' length away, or nearer, 9 Thus He revealed unto His bondman whatsoever He revealed. 10 The [servant's] heart did not give the lie to what he saw: 11 Will you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 He saw Him indeed another time 13 by the Lote-Tree of the Boundary 14 Close to which is the Garden of Tranquility, 15 When that covered the lote-tree which did cover it! 16 His eye did not waver, nor did it stray, 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 Have you really considered al-Lat and al-"Uzza, 19 And Manat, the third, the other? 20 Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? 21 That were indeed an unjust division. 22 They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance. 23 Can ever man get what he desires? 24 So (know that) Allah only is the Owner of all – the Hereafter and this world. 25
