Lo! for those who keep from evil are gardens of bliss with their Lord. 34 Shall We then treat the People of Faith like the People of Sin? 35 What aileth you? How foolishly ye judge! 36 Or, have you a Book from which you study 37 surely in it you shall have whatever you choose! 38 Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge? 39 Ask them, which of them will stand surety for that! 40 Or have they any partners? Let them bring their partners then, if what they say is true. 41 The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able, 42 Their eyes will be cast down,- ignominy will cover them; seeing that they had been summoned aforetime to bow in adoration, while they were whole, (and had refused). 43 So leave to Me those who reject this message. We shall lead them step by step to their ruin, in ways beyond their ken. 44 A (long) respite will I grant them: truly powerful is My Plan. 45 Or is it that thou dost ask them for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 46 Is the unseen within their grasp so that they write it down? 47 So wait with patience for the Command of thy Lord, and be not like the Companion of the Fish,- when he cried out in agony. 48 Had not grace from his Lord reached him, he had surely been cast into the wilderness in a plight. 49 Then his Lord chose him, and He made him of the good. 50 When the unbelievers hear this Exhortation, they look at you as though they would knock you off your feet with their (hostile) glances. They say: “Surely he is afflicted with madness”; 51 While it is naught but an admonition unto the worlds. 52
