The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
