The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star - 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17

True are the words of God the Almighty.
