Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In a high Garden. 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore advise; indeed you are a proclaimer of advice. (The Holy Prophet is a Remembrance from Allah.) 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
