Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
