Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
