The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 who taught by the Pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Hast thou seen him who dissuadeth 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
