And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 They incline their ears, and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
Almighty God's Truth.
