۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Indeed, today they are surrendering themselves completely.” 26 And some of them will confront the others, 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 Most surely you will taste the painful punishment. 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 a variety of delicious fruits; and they shall be honoured 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 What then, shall we not die 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74
