3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 for We saved him and his household from that awesome calamity, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart, 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 Thereafter they (the people) came to him in haste. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
