If affliction befalls you, it is what your own hands have earned, but He pardons a lot. 30 you cannot escape Him anywhere on earth. You have no protector or helper other than God. 31 And among His signs are the ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas: 32 He could stop the wind if He pleased, then they would be stranded on its surface. Surely there are signs in this for every one who perseveres and is grateful. 33 Or He may make them founder for what they have earned, and (even then) pardon most; 34 He knows all those who dispute His revelations. They will find no way to escape from (His torment). 35 So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely 36 And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive, 37 Those who hearken to their Lord, and establish regular Prayer; who (conduct) their affairs by mutual Consultation; who spend out of what We bestow on them for Sustenance; 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 The way of blame is only against those who wrong mankind, and rebel in the earth without justice; these! for them is a torment afflictive. 42 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. 43
