Ad cried lies to the Envoys 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 so fear you God, and obey you me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 And when ye seize, ye seize like unto tyrants. 130 "Now fear Allah, and obey me. 131 And fear Him Who hath aided you with that which ye know. 132 He has given you cattle, children, 133 gardens, and springs. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day." 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 This [religion of ours] is none other than that to which our forebears clung, 137 And we shall not be doomed. 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
