The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount (Sinai), 1 And the Book written 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 By the roof elevated. 5 and by the swelling sea: 6 VERILY, [O man,] the suffering decreed by thy Sustainer [for the sinners] will indeed come to pass: 7 there is none to prevent it. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 On the Day whereon they will be pushed into Hell-Fire with a dreadful push. 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Enter into it, then bear (it) patiently, or do not bear (it) patiently, it is the same to you; you shall be requited only (for) what you did. 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Rejoicing in that which their Lord hath vouchsafed unto them; and their Lord will protect them from the torment of the Flame. 18 [And they will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer as an outcome of what you were wont to do, 19 Reclining on ranged couches. And we wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 There they will pass a goblet to one another with neither idle talk nor sin, 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 They will say: "Behold, aforetime - when we were [still living] in the midst of our kith and kin - we were full of fear [at the thought of God's displeasure]: 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
