۞ But those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us are wont to say: "Why have no angels been sent down to us?" - or, "Why do we not see our Sustainer?" Indeed, they are far too proud of themselves, having rebelled [against God's truth] with utter disdain! 21 The day when they will see the angels – that day will not be of any happiness for the guilty – and they will cry, “O God, erect a barrier between us and them!” 22 Then We shall turn to what they had done and render it vain like scattered dust. 23 The Companions of the Garden will be well, that Day, in their abode, and have the fairest of places for repose. 24 On a Day when the sky will split open with its clouds and the angels are sent down rank upon rank, 25 true sovereignty on that Day will belong to the Gracious One, and it will be a hard Day for those who deny the truth. 26 On the day when the wrong-doer gnaweth his hands, he will say: Ah, would that I had chosen a way together with the messenger (of Allah)! 27 Alas, would that I had not taken So-and-so for a friend! 28 For it was he, who had deluded me to reject the Admonition which had come to me. Satan has proved very treacherous to man. " 29 And the Messenger will say, "O my Lord, my people had made this Qur'an the object of their ridicule." 30 Thus do We keep opponents among the sinners for every apostle; yet your Lord is sufficient as a guide and helper. 31 And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly. 32 And they come not unto thee with a similitude but We bring thee the truth and an excellent interpretation. 33 They who shall be gathered prone on their faces unto Hell - those shall be worst in respect of place and the most astray in respect of path. 34
