Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the close of night, 17 The rising dawn, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
