The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heavens with constellations, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 When they sat by it, 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 As for those who believed and acted righteously, theirs shall be Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
