The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I too am devising a guile. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
