And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 Your Lord said to the angels, "I am about to bring into being a man wrought from mud. 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 Upon thee shall rest the curse, till the Day of Doom.' 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 And surely Hell is the promised place of them all: 43 It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion. 44
