Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
