No! By the moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning for people -- 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
