Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
