The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night when it approaches 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
