And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 That which they were made to enjoy shall not avail them? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
