And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 "Go swiftly to the spring," (We said). "This cold water is for bathing and for drinking." 42 And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand. 43 "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! 44 (Muhammad), recall Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, all of whom possessed virtuous hands and clear visions. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 and, in Our sight they were indeed among the select, the truly good! 47 And remember Isma'il (Ishmael), Al-Yasa'a (Elisha), and Dhul-Kifl (Isaiah), all are among the best. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 This is what you were promised on the Day of Reckoning: 53 Our provision (for you) will never be exhausted. 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell, wherein they roast: a wretched couch. 56 All this; so let them taste it - boiling water and pus, 57 and other torments of the like kind coupled together. 58 [Its inhabitants will say], "This is a company bursting in with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they will burn in the Fire." 59 They will say nay! it is ye, for whom there is no welcome: it is ye who have brought it upon us. Evil shall be the resting-place. 60 They will continue saying, "Lord, double the torment of fire for those who led us into this. 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Lo! that is very truth: the wrangling of the dwellers in the Fire. 64
