Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A large group from the earlier generations. 39 And a multitude from the later generations. 40 As for the Companions of the Left 41 In hot wind and boiling water, 42 scalding water and under a shadow of black smoke, 43 Which is neither cool nor is for respect. 44 Surely they were before that made to live in ease and plenty. 45 and persisted in the great sin 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 Or our fathers of yore? 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 50 Then you, you misguided ones, who deny the truth, 51 you will indeed have to taste of the tree of deadly fruit, 52 filling your bellies with it; 53 and drink on top of that boiling water 54 And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camels. 55 Thus shall they be entertained on the Day of Recompense. 56 We created you, then why do you believe not? 57 Have you considered the seed? 58 Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? 59 It is We who have ordained death for all of you; and We cannot be prevented 60 In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not know. 61 You have known the first creation, then why do you not reflect? 62 Just ponder over what you sow: 63 Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? 64 If We will, We would make it broken stubble and you would remain wondering, 65 (And say:) "We have fallen into debt; 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 See ye the water which ye drink? 68 Send it down ye from the raincloud, or are We the Sender down? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 Did you consider the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 (Muhammad), glorify your Lord, the Great One. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
