The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise, and warn, 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 And thine raiment purify. 4 And pollution shun. 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 And [warn all men that] when the trumpet-call [of resurrection] is sounded, 8 it will be a hard day 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons standing before him, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 and who still desires more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then he looked, 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 And what knoweth thou that which the Scorching Fire? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
