Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
