By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
