The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
