The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few of later ages, 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and waters gushing, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
