The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 "When we have become decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
